Hey it's Tucker.
I think the theme of the story is about something that no one knows thats why they call it a secret. Up until the end I did not know he was blind. There was a clue when the president of the company was talking about how it would be funny if he was blind because it seemed the horse did most of the work. The horse knew all of the houses that they had to stop at so the horse did most of the work.
The theme of the story, A Secret For Two is: In a great friendship, you can do a big task even while being blind. At the end of the book after Pierre got hit by the truck, the doctor told everyone he had been blind for 5 years, but nobody knew. Pierre had such a great trust in Joseph. To let a horse drive you around town, when you don't know where you're going is pretty amazing. I would never be able to do that. Even though the horse supposidly knew where it was going, it amazes me that Pirerre would do that. They really must be absolute BEST friends. That just proves that anything can happen if you work together.
Still Tucker... Need someone to comment on.
I totally agree with Tucker. I really thought Pierre was just another old man... until the end of the story. Again, that just proves anything can happen if you work together.
Tucker: Thank you Cole!!
I agree with Cole about how no one knew he was blind. That is so wierd how know one knew for 5 years that he was blind because he worked so well with Jospeh.
Tucker... I'm here...coment on me!!!
Hi, it's Ryan. The theme of "A Secret for Two" is trust. The author tries to get this to his reader by saying at the end that Pierre was blind and had been blind for five years. Even though he was blind, he was still letting a horse drive him and his wagon around town to deliver milk. That shows lots of trust between two friends. Despite being blind, he still wanted to work in the company as he had been doing for thirty years, even though he was offered the opportunity to stop working. That shows how much he trusted his horse.
I agree with Cole. Sorry, it's Ryan. Like Cole said, It seems that Pierre was just an old man until the story says that he is blind. I also agree with Cole in that if people work well together, they can get a lot accomplished. The horse was also Pierre's eyes. without the horse, he got hit by a car. That is how well the two of them worked together. Pierre came to completely depend on the horse.
yo it's Joe
The theme for a seceret for two is about friendship and ability. The seceret turns out to be that Pierre is actually blind the only person or thing that knew he was blind was Joseph (the horse). There was a clue to the seceret when the president of the milk association said it would be funny if he were blind but that was just meant to be a joke. Whenever you look at someone in a wheelchair you always think about what they can't do you never look past that and see all the things they can do these partially explains that even if you are blind you can do ordinary things with a little help.
I agree tucker it's Joe
The horse does most of the work but Pierre hides that he is blind and makes it seem like he isn't dissabled and can do the work. I think that since he wasn't blind the entire time he worked there it looked like if the horse was sick he could do the work by himself
I think the theme is that if you are disabled you can still do what regular people do or maybe even better. Because Piere delivered milk to people with his horse and he didn't even have to "touch the reins" like he said. Also I think that if you strive to do something it might end up better than you think was a big part of this story.
I totally agree with cole. I don't think I would trust a horse that much either. And I think anything can happen if you work together too.
Hey it's Rob!
I think that the theme of the story A Secret For Two is both friendship and trust. The author through out the story tries to tell the reader that Pierre is and has been blind for a while. For example when his boss was joking around about how even a blind man could do Pierre's job with a horse like Joseph. At the end when Pierre got hit by a truck and when he got to the hospital and the doctor told everyone the secret( that Pierre is blind) they were astonished. If I was Pierre I would have alwalys felt scared having to ride around even with Joesph. That shows the trust that Pierre has in him. The story shows you can do anything if you put your mind to it.
Hey it's Rob!
I agree with cole. I think it would have taken alot of trust in your Horse and yourslef to delver milk when you are blind. Also he has been delvering milk for thirdy years.
I think the theme of this story is that people will want to live and to work when they have somthing to live for, but when they don't, life doesn't seem worth living anymore. In this story the theme isn't about living but working (even though the author might have been trying to get the message about life). Even though Jacques offered Pierre to not work and still get payed the same amount, Pierre wanted to work because his friend was there to work with him. In the end Pierre no longer wanted to work because you can't replace such a great friend (which is what Jacques wanted him to do.)
I'm backing Cole up on this one ( not that I nomarlly don't). I would never want a horse be riding me around espacially if i was blind.
I think that the theme of the story,"A Secret For Two" is a great friendship and trust that comes along with that. Like when Pierre said "I never touch the rains. He knows just where to stop. Why, a blind man could deliver my milk with Joseph pulling the wagon." When he says that we find out at the end that he is saying that and in the end we find out that its true. Pierre trusts Joseph everyday to guide him through the streets everyday with the milk wagon. Pierres and Joseph friendship is really strong because near the end of the story it says that Peirrre refused to leave is job. He said that his life would be nothing if he could not drive Joseph everyday. "We are two old men," he said to Jacques. "Let us wear out together. When Joseph is ready to leave, then I will do so." they had such a good relationship that Pierre felt that he could not live with out Joseph. That is what I think the theme of the story is.
I agree with Rob I was try to say a lot of the same things things that he was saying.
Abaas wrote... The theme of the story of A Secret For Two is to show the friendship of a man and a horse. And also that being blind is not always a disability. At the end of the book when Pierre got hit by a truck people had just found out that he was blind. But he never told his boss because he had such great trust in Joseph. I think it is kind of amazing that Joseph was able to help Pierre get around town. This shows that Joseph was just right for Pierre in the sense that he was able to lead blind people around town and that is exactly what Pierre needed. To me this says that friends don't just have to be human. But animals too can be friends with humans.
Abaas said...I agree with Joe when he says that people with problems can do ordinary things with a little bit of help.
The themes of the story are friendship and helping others. The horse [Joseph] helps Pierre do his job. Pierre is realy blind. Noone knows because the horse stops at all of the right houses. The horse seemed to smile at Pierre and helped him earn money. The horse was a friend to Pierre. He helped him to overcome his blindness. Pierre would not have been able to earn a living without Joseph.

The theme of the story, A Secrect For Two is a person trying to keep a secrect about being blind. For 5 years he relied on a horse to take him around. Peirre must of had alot of trust in the horse to take you around town being blind. peirre dint care that he was blind, peirre still wanted to work in the company. If i was best friends with a horse i probaly still woulnt trust a horse to take me around town being blind. the horse was pretty smart to know his way around, and that really show trust and great friendship between a man and a horse. by the way this is rebeccas blog
i also agreee with cole because he said peirre must be BEST friends, and that anything can happen when you work as a team.
the anonymous above is rebeccca!!!!!!!!!
I think that the theme of this story is about one person depending on some one else. In the story Pierre depends on Joseph the horse because he is blind and he need someone to lead him to where he needs to go. To me it seemed a little odd that he let the horse drive him self but we find out that Pierre is blind at the end of the story and then the story makes more sense.
I think the theme of the story is a great friendship and trusting each other.I think this because Pierre had such a great trust in Joseph to let him drive around town delivering the milk.Pierre must of really trusted Joseph to drive around town when he didn't really know him.I also think that the theme of the story was a secret bettween Pierre and Joseph.I think the story was called that because Pierre must of told Joseph that he was blind because they were such great friends.
I agree with Tucker that there was a hint about Pierre being blind because when the president of the company came he said how it would be funny if Pierre was blind. So you were kind of thinking what if he really is blind because the author had dropped a clue.
Reilly,
I agree eith most of your paragraph but i think it wasn't that Pierre didn't want to stop working it was that he couldn't. Rember, he was blind and he needed help getting from place to place without getting hurt.
The third word in my response is susposed to be "with"
Hey its ian
This story is about a secert that is why the titel of the book is a secret for two. At the end we all found out that he was blind and the presidant of the campany he was making fun of the blind guy by lauphing and saying it would be funnie if i was blind ........ thre hores reconizesed most of the bilding because he did most of the work.
hi
I agree with Cole, Pierre must have had to trust Joseph alot to let Joseph drive him from door to door to deliver the milk.
This is Sophia. What I think the theme of the story is, is the relationship between a man and a horse. Throughout the story you read that Pierre and Joseph are always telling secrets and talking to eachother. They know eachother so well because they have been sharing every morning together for the last 30 years and they know one another. When the author wrote the title " A Secret For Two" he was saying the secrets they've told like that Pierre was blind. That is why Joseph always led Pierre where to go.
I agree with Julia about how the theme of the story is about trust and friendship. I agree with how he must of trusted him to drive around town and be lead by a horse. I guess they did that job for 30 years they built trust over those years.
I think the theme of "A Secret for Two" is that a great friendship equalls trust. I say that because when Pierre got hit by the truck, the doctor said he had been blind for five years and asked if Jacques knew, and he said he didn't and thought only one person did. Joseph. Jacques thought that because he knew how Pierre would tell things to Joseph and nobody else. Also, since the horse died that morning, and he knew how close there were, he relized how big the acctual relationship was, that Pierre would be willing to do anything for Joseph, and Joseph wouold do anything for Pierre. Like for the past five years the horse was leading Pierre without him touching the reins at all. Pierre and Joseph were great friends and will be forever. That is the theme of "A Secret for Two."
I agree with Julia that the theme of the story is great friendship and trusting eachother because Joseph and Pierre had a great friendship and really trusted eachother.
The theme of the story for "A Secret For Two" is probably having good frindship. In the story, Joseph and Pierre were best of friends and shared secrets with each other. One of them were that Pierre was blind. At the end of the book, Joseph died. When that happened, Pierre died too from a truck accendent. Joseph had saved Pierre for 5 years when he was blind. Also, Joseph led Pierre from house to house for 30 years.
I agree with Kennely that the theme is a good friendship because without Pierre and Joseph having that connection, there wouldn't be a point to the story.
The theme of this story titled "A Secret For Two" is about a wonderful relationship between a blind mind and his horse. For example, Pierre is blind and the only one who really knew was his horse named Joseph.
For five years the secret was kept from everyone including his boss. For example, Pierre's boss commented how the horse would listen and how he would turn his head whenever Pierre spoke. The boss realized there was something special between the two of them.
Pierre would get up everyday at 5'oclock each morning and take the horse to deliver milk. Without even pulling the reins of the horse, the horse would know his route.
Pierre's secret was later discovered by a doctor after he was hit and killed by a truck. His boss realized then that Pierre was blind and the only person who ever knew was Joseph, his loyal horse.
Hey everyone! It's CHEL-Z!!!
Okay, well the theme of " A secret for two" is the friendship between Pierre and his horse Joseph. Although the story is really about the secret of Pierre being blind most of the story is about him and the horse happily delivering milk. Pierre trusted Joseph because if your blind you can't tell if you are going the wrong way or walking into a forest. The two had an amazing friend ship you can't have with all people and creatures like Joseph.
Can this be part of the paragraph somewhere or does it not have to do with the theme? I think Pierre didn't tell his work buddies he was blind is because Pierre didn't want them to say "sorry you can't do this anymore. You can't see where you're going and you can't fill orders." Pierre loved his horse and wanted to be with him.
I agree with Ryan because Pierre did have to trust Joseph. Pierre put his paycheck and life sort of on the line. If the horse got hit by something, maybe like the truck at the end Pierre would go down with the horse.
- CHEL-Z
I agree with Rob. The reason I agree is because the author was really trying to point out that Pierre was blind with out giving the secret away.
Sorry Miss Chiaputti the coment under Melissa's is Sydney's.
The theme of the story A SECRET FOR TWO is about a horse named Joseph and a blind milk man named Pierre that worked for the milk componey for 30 years.
I agree with Cole because I think the theme of the story is about a friend ship. Even times are hard you can still work.
I think the theme of the story is that if you put all your trust in some one they can realy help you. Pierre really trusted Joseph and he was able to do his job for five years while being blind. You can tell that Pierre tusted Joseph because he always braged about how a blind men could deliver the milk, Joseph was so good. Also he could have retiered any time but he decided that he could still do his job with Josephs's help.
I agree with Caitlin that "a great friend ship equals trust" because if Pierre weren't really good friends with Joseph than he probably wouldn't trust Joseph to ride him around, at least I know I wouldn't.
